DAG Member Shout-Out!!

Against the Machine is a group exhibition exploring the role of the artist in the age of generative AI, fascism and climate disaster. Curated by Cassandra J. Rowe and charla rios, the exhibit opened in late May and runs through August. Upcoming events:

June open hours: Tuesdays from 11am-3pm

Thursday June 5: 6:30pm. Fighting for Creativity in the Age of AI. A talk with Dr. Emily Wenger, who researches security and privacy issues of AI models. Currently, she is an Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Duke University. She was named to the 2024 Forbes 30 under 30 list for her work on Glaze, a tool that protects artists' work from unwanted use in generative AI models.

Tues July 8: 6:30pm. Understanding Data Centers and Their Environmental Impact. Virtual talk ft. Julie Bolthouse, AICP, Director of Land Use, Piedmont Environmental Council (Virginia). More info coming, save the date.

Thurs July 17: 6:30pm Artist talk, moderated by Quay Weston

August 22: 6-9pm Third Friday Closing Reception
