Every year Artspace selects one emerging artist for this career-stimulus residency.

    This opportunity includes:

    • 24-hour access to a rent-free studio space for one year.

    • A $200 monthly stipend.

    • At least one formal networking opportunity during the residency.

  • A Revival can mean a reawakening of faith and a fresh infusion of spiritual life. Some are called to sing, some to play the drum, and some of us are called to use our hands in an expressive, meditative way — creating two-dimensional images, weaving our stories into fiber arts, or assembling objects that become wearable art, jewelry, or sculptures to express our journey through death and life.

We invite you to step into a quiet reverie in The Smelt Gallery and be inspired by what you see. The 10th Annual Death Faire Revival Art Exhibit will open in the Smelt Gallery on Sunday, November 2, and will continue through the month of November.

    Deadline: October 3, 2025

CMP mentors are artistic practitioners who serve as advisors and guides for each student’s creative journey during this program. Mentors also serve as compassionate adult figures and role models for the students with whom they are paired. While the students select the media they would like to work with, mentors help students solve creative problems, provide feedback on their projects, and, when appropriate, provide technical and professional advice and assistance. Mentors work with the students to create and manage a program budget and oversee the project timeline to ensure the project will be finished by the exhibition date.

Contact Anthony Patterson at anthony@durhamartguild.org if you have any questions or need further assistance.

2025 applications are closed. Applications for 2026 will open in late Fall of 2025.
